Renowned humanitarian and spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar (left) will arrive in the UK on Sunday (12) for a week- long tour where he will meet devotees and business leaders.
As well as leading meditation and yoga sessions, he will discuss topics linked to Britain’s challenges on extremism, diversity and ethics in business.
The tour, entitled Meditation 2.0 – Go Deeper will see Sri Sri address the power of meditation and wellbeing, a market now three times larger than the pharmaceutical industry. The cities he will visit include Manchester, Leicester and edinburgh, culminating in an apperance in London, at the Royal Albert Hall next Sunday (19).
Sri Sri will also give a parliamentary address to members of both houses in parliament in the capital, as well as the keynote address at the Institute of Chartered Accountants for england and wales.
Devotees will have the chance to interact with Sri Sri, whom Forbes magazine identified as one of the top five most powerful figures in India and who has reached over 300 million people worldwide.
The world Culture Festival in March in new Delhi celebrated 35 years of Sri Sri’s organisation the Art of Living, where 3.7 million people from 155 different countries came together to celebrate peace and to meditate.
Sri Sri’s engagements over the past year have included addressing the european parliament in Brussels on the relevance of yoga for decision makers and 30,000 yogis in Times Square, new York, on International Yoga Day.
He was also awarded the Padma Vibhushan, the second highest civilian honour given by the Indian government.
