LEADING British Asian businessman and chairman of Sun Mark, Dr Rami Ranger MBE, has won the Corbett Keeling Lifetime Achievement Award at the sixth annual Red Ribbon Awards that celebrate achievements in Britain’s family-run businesses.
Hosted by Family Business Place, the awards honour innovative and established family businesses around the UK. Eleven firms won awards at the event which was held on July 10 at Shakespeare’s Globe in London.
The judges said: “As a young man Rami came to England to pursue a dream and has risen to become one of the most inspiring and respected business leaders the UK has ever seen.
Not only did he have the vision to see opportunities that other people missed, he worked harder than other people were willing to and fought hard for his place in British business society.
“On top of this, he has gone on to become a political reformist and a generous philanthropist.” Dr Ranger is also the recipient of an unprecedented five consecutive Queen’s Awards for Enterprise.
He was abroad and the award was collected on his behalf by his daughter, Reena.
