APPOINTMENT: Rohit Nandan
Rohit Nandan will continue to be chairman and managing director (CMD) of national carrier Air India for one month or until new appointee Ashwani Lohani takes over.
The tenure of Nandan, a 1982 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, at the airline was extended for one month beyond August 21, or until the regular incumbent joins the post, a Department of Personnel and Training report said.
Nandan was appointed as Air India CMD for three years on August 12, 2011. His tenure was extended twice – first in August last year, for three months, then in October. His second extension was until last Friday.
Last Thursday (20), the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) named Lohani, a railways service officer and managing director of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation in Bhopal, as CMD of Air India for three years.
