Boxer Amir Khan
Boxing champ Amir Khan is part of £15million takeover of football team Bolton Wanderers this week.
Khan is reportedly alongside former footballer Dean Holdsworth in the takeover bid.
The two time former world champion who is fan of the club, has previously spoken of his admiration of the team.
Holdsworth, has scored 39 goals in 158 appearances for the club during his time from 1997 and 2003.
According to a report by the Daily Star, Holdsworth will be unveiled as chairman and Khan is understood to have agreed to stage future fights at the Macron Stadium.
The club are currently sitting 23rd in the Championship and have won just once all season, and are the division’s lowest scorers, finding the net just 10 times in 16 fixtures.
Khan, who owns community boxing gym in the Bolton is also set to open a £5 million luxury Deane wedding venue in the area. It will contain a restaurant and bar on the ground floor, an 800-seater function hall on the second floor, a VIP restaurant and breakout area on the second floor, a roof terrace and 51 parking spaces.
Earlier this year he announced his interest in investing in India’s Super Fight League, owned by businessman Raj Kundra, husband of Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty.
