THE most high-profile
celebrity wedding this year has been that of Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover. Not surprisingly, Bollywood bombshell Bipasha revealed some
looks during the wedding celebrations that are already proving to be influential. My favourite was her style during the mehendi night where she has a hair garland made of real flowers, soft waves and high- lights, which gave a fresh summary look.
This particular look works well for functions like the mehendi, but can also be effective at the civil ceremony if worn with a tiara and even at the reception if adapted with a different hair brooch.
With that in mind, I created one look that can be quickly transformed into a second one.
For the first look, I
the hair, but not too straight and then used a curling iron to add some soft waves. Then I blended subtly coloured hair extensions into the curls to create highlights.
I created volume with a beehive effect on the crown area and then draped curls over the shoulders. I created more curls where the fringe area is and then lifted them by backcombing and pinning into place to frame the face. This gave hair extra texture.
Finally, I added some fresh flowers. You can add as many or few as you want, but usually less is more. The flowers can be separately placed or shaped into a crown.
I was able to change this look by pushing the hair draped over the shoulders back to create a loose fishtail and placing the flowers differently.
If you have two functions on the same day, this is a great way to create different looks for maximum impact and very little effort.
