WITH Eid approaching many will be contemplating the last few days of Ramadan and looking forward to a memorable day of celebration.
Everyone has their favourite aspects of Eid, from enjoying a delicious sheer korma or mouthwatering biriyani to those heavenly sweets. Kids will be excited waiting to see what gifts they get. Could it be toys, chocolates or money?
This year supermarket Asda asked mums and kids what they liked best about Eid and what makes it special.
Mother of two Tasneem Tawawalla from St Albans said that she hoped that this year’s Eid celebrations would be extra special since her relatives in the UK and her family in Pakistan would be visiting.
“This year the house is going to be packed and I have to ensure there is something for everyone to look forward to,” said Tasneem.
Tasneem said that aside from the biryani and sheer korma, she will make sure that while the kids are having fun there will “some bombay mix, kebabs and samosas for them to munch on while they play.”
Six-year-old Moiz Tawawalla can not hide what he is most excited about this Eid.
“I told Nani to get me an Iron Man toy so I can play superheroes with my friends,” said Moiz.
Speaking about her favourite dish 12-year-old Naqiya said: “My mum’s sevaiya is the best. This year she has promised that I can help.”
