Eastern Eye’s sister title Pharmacy Business is calling on high achievers in the independent pharmacy community to put themselves forward for its annual awards.
This year, a business conference giving professionals the chance to talk about improving people’s health will take place before the ceremony on October 13. It will shine a light on the critical role that the industry plays in a struggling NHS.
The conference, entitled Passion For Healthcare, will showcase how community pharmacists are making a difference in areas such as medicine optimisation, healthy living, embarrassing and intimate health issues, GP collaboration, reaching local commissioners, self-care pharmacy, the digitalisation of healthcare, telehealth and service innovation.
The Pharmacy Business Awards, to be held later in the evening, will again show it is unrivalled in its ability to uncover and celebrate the best of community pharmacy before an audience of pharmacy heads, company executives and politicians.
Jacqueline Lewis from Lewis Pharmacy, who won an award last year, said: “It’s amazing to be recognised for the hard work that’s gone in and overcoming hurdles and barriers. It comes from trying to look after my patients and trying to give them the care that I want to in order to help them on their journey with cancer and also trying to get it recognised nationally.”
