A TOP Pakistani court on Monday (30) issued notices to seven accused of plotting the 2008 terror attacks on Mumbai, among them the mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi.
“The Islamabad high court has issued notices to the accused of Mumbai attack case and the (Pakistani) government on the prosecution’s plea to form a com- mission to examine the boat at port city of Karachi,” a court official said. A date for hearing of the case will be fixed lat- er, the official added.
India holds the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), allegedly linked to Al-Qaeda, responsible for the 2008 Mumbai assault that killed 166 people.
Mumbai attack mastermind Lakhvi (above) , Abdul Wajid, Mazhar Iqbal, Hamad Amin Sadiq, Shahid Jameel Riaz,Jamil Ahmed and Younis Anjum are accused of abetment to murder, attempted murder, planning and executing the attack.
Lakhvi is living at an undisclosed location after he got released from jail on bail a year ago.
The other six suspects are in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi.
